BRAMPTON, Ont. – Peel Regional Police say charges against a teen driver have been upgraded after a young man died following a “car-surfing” incident in Brampton, Ont., this week.
Police say a 19-year-old man was critically injured after falling from a moving car and hitting his head on the pavement Tuesday afternoon.
He later died of his injuries.
A 16-year-old boy who was driving the car was initially charged with criminal negligence causing bodily harm and dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
Police say those charges have been upgraded to criminal negligence causing death and dangerous driving causing death.
