The province’s police watchdog is investigating after a man was shot and killed by a police officer in Vaughan on Sunday night.
The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) will probe an incident at an event centre near Highway 7 and Vaughan Valley Boulevard at around 11:50 p.m. on Sunday night.

Police said officers were dispatched to the area for a weapons call.
A man was shot after an interaction with officers. Police and paramedics provided first aid and the man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
He was pronounced dead in hospital on Monday morning, according to SIU.
A post-mortem is scheduled for Tuesday morning.
