2 women pronounced dead following Thursday afternoon crash in North Dumfries

Waterloo Regional Police say two women were killed in a two-vehicle crash in North Dumfries on Thursday at around lunchtime.

A car carrying the two women was headed north on Shellard Road was hit by a dump truck which was eastbound on Old Bevery Road, according to police.

They say the driver and passenger of the car, a 76-year-old woman from Middlesex County and a 78-year-old woman from Elgin County, were both pronounced dead at the scene of the collision, according to police.

They say that a 42-year-old Burlington man, who was driving the dump truck, was uninjured as a result.

Police did not say whether any charges would be laid in connection to the collision.
