B.C. municipal election 2022: Langford results

Global News is projecting Scott Peter Goodmanson has been elected as the next mayor of Langford in the 2022 B.C. municipal election, ending one of the longest political runs in the province.

Goodmanson defeated longtime Mayor Stewart Young, who was first elected in 1993 and was running for his 10th straight term. He won in 2018 with more than 80 per cent of the vote.

Residents also chose a mostly new council, with only Lillian Szpak winning re-election. She will be joined on council by Colby Harder, Mary Wagner, Keith Yacucha, Kimberley Guiry and Mark Morley.

Langford is located on southern Vancouver Island, about 14 kilometres from Victoria. To its south is the community of Colwood and to its west you’ll find Goldstream.
