So what made mayoral candidate Jon Lord change his mind?
On Sunday, Lord confirmed he wouldn’t be able to attend the CivicCamp mayoral forum at the University of Calgary due to a previously scheduled trip. Lord was competing at the 34th Annual American Royal World Series of Barbecue Open in Kansas City, where he finished 445th place. There were 535 participants.
Many were quick to comment on his decision to chose the BBQ competition over the mayoral forum.
However, soon after the cook-off results were posted, Lord tweeted at non-partisan citizen’s group CivicCamp Calgary that he was on his way back home.
CivicCamp later updated Lord’s travels, confirming the mayoral candidate was on his way home.
To watch the mayoral debate will be streamed live at 7 p.m. http://www.livestreamcalgary.com/live/.
