E-Comm, the company that handles 911 calls, says the 911 service began malfunctioning at around 2:30 p.m. At around 7:45 p.m. the company said that service had been fully restored.

The cause of the disruption remains unknown.

The problem was initially reported in the South Okanagan and the Central Okanagan.

“The cause of the outage is currently under investigation with TELUS technicians continuing to work through the night,” E-Comm said in a press release, after service had been restored. “Further details will be provided in the coming days.”
