Peel Regional Police say a 22-year-old man has died following a shooting in a residential neighbourhood in Brampton.
Emergency crews responded to a call for a shooting at around 9:49 p.m. Thursday near Botavia Downs and Brisdale drives, in the area of Sandalwood Parkway and Chinguacousy Road.
Police said a man was found inside of a parked vehicle outside of the residence suffering from a gunshot wound.
He died at the scene a result of his injuries, police said.
The homicide unit has taken over the investigation.
“Investigators believe that the victim was the intended target of this shooting and that this was an isolated incident. No other injuries were reported as a result of this shooting,” police said in a news release.
Police also said there is no suspect description at this time and anyone with information or video is asked to call investigators.
