CALGARY – The release of Apple’s two newest phones prompted a long line to form outside the Apple store at Chinook Centre, early Friday morning.
The iPhone 5-S and 5-C went on sale on Apple’s website early in the morning, and then in stores at 8 a.m. local time.
At Chinook Centre, patient tech fans sat on the floor in a winding line as they waited for their new gadget – most of them passing the time by playing on their smartphones.
The iPhone 5-S sports a fingerprint sensor, a better camera and a faster processor.
The cheaper 5-C model is largely last year’s iPhone 5 with a few extras, a choice of five colours — and the housing is made of plastic instead of aluminum and glass.
