CALGARY- The man charged with running over a pedestrian is now facing murder charges.
In August, police were called to 42 Ave. and Macleod Trail and found a woman pinned underneath a vehicle. It’s believed she was in the vehicle, and got out just seconds before the Camaro drove onto the sidewalk and hit her.
33-year-old Lacey Manion died at the scene.

30-year-old Kristoffer Del Campo was originally charged with manslaughter in the death of his girlfriend, but on Friday, that was suddenly upgraded to second-degree murder.
“You’re charged with manslaughter, you come to court, it’s upgraded to second degree?” says defence lawyer Adriano Iovinelli. “The first question is ‘why,’ and from what we understand there may be some informant information that needs to be reviewed.”
Both Manion and Del Campo had a lengthy history with police, for fraud-related offences. They had been dating for about six months before Manion was killed. Police were working to determine a motive, and the defence says it’s alleged that Del Campo spoke with someone while in jail.
“From what we’ve heard so far, there’s some information from CPS that another individual known to Del Campo alleges there was a conversation that went to the intent.”
Del Campo’s next court appearance is scheduled for October 4th. He is currently trying to get out on bail.
