Female pedestrian killed on Macleod Tr. identified, was in relationship with driver

CALGARY- A man has been charged with manslaughter, after a female pedestrian was hit and killed on Monday afternoon.

Police were called to 42 Ave. and Macleod Tr. S just before 2 p.m., and found a woman pinned under a Chevrolet Camaro. It’s believed she was in the vehicle before getting out, and just seconds later the Camaro drove onto the sidewalk and hit her.

She died at the scene, and the male driver was taken into custody.

The victim has since been identified as 33-year-old Lacey Yvonne Manion. Police say she was in a relationship with the accused, that began back in February.

30-year-old Kristoffer Del Campo has since been charged in the case and his next court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday.

An autopsy on the Manion revealed that she died of blunt force trauma.
