Homicide team called to Maple Ridge after man with gunshot wounds found inside pickup

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is on-scene at the location of a deadly shooting in Maple Ridge. It happened in the Thornhill neigbourhood Monday evening, and as Emily Lazatin reports, the 57-year-old male victim was still alive when officers first arrived – Nov 2, 2021

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been called to Maple Ridge after a man was found suffering from gunshot wounds Monday evening.

At about 6:40 p.m., Ridge Meadows RCMP received reports of shots fired in the area of the 25300 block of 102nd Avenue.

Officers found an injured 57-year-old man in a white GMC pickup truck.

Police said the officers attempted to save the man but he died at the scene.

He has now been identified as Daniel William Delmark from Maple Ridge.

Delmark is not known to police and has no connections to the ongoing Lower Mainland gang conflict, IHIT said.

Homicide investigators are looking for video surveillance and dash cam video of any persons or vehicle in the area of Lougheed Hwy, 100 and 102 Avenue around 264 Street on Nov. 1 between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Investigators ask anyone to contact the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-4448.
