CALGARY- She was convicted of beating and robbing a 92-year-old woman at a mall back in 2009. Now the same woman is charged with taking advantage of a woman during the June flood.
Renee Lemire is alleged to have posed as a needy victim of the flooding, posting an ad for help finding a place to live on Kijiji.

Kara Hickman saw the ad, offering up a room in her home for $500 per month. Two renters settled in and Hickman headed out for the weekend—but when she returned they were gone, along with many of her belongings including her truck.
“You just want to help people at that time, you’re not thinking about their bac ground or that they are bad people,” Hickman said. “Lots of people needed help from the flood, so you wanna do what you can.”
