Collision in Pointe-aux-Trembles leaves motorcyclist in critical condition

A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a vehicle in Pointe-aux-Trembles on the eastern tip of the Island of Montreal.

Montreal police say the incident occurred around 3:25 p.m. at the intersection of Notre-Dame Street and George V Avenue.

Montreal police spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant said preliminary information gathered at the scene indicates the crash occurred as the driver of the vehicle, heading west on Notre-Dame, attempted a left-hand turn onto George V.

The motorcyle was heading east on Notre-Dame.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital and is in critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle, a woman in her 30s, was not injured in the crash.

A security perimeter was set up at the scene to allow for the investigation.
