49-year-old motorcyclist seriously injured after crash in North York

Toronto police say a 49-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash in North York on Saturday.

Police said in a news release Sunday afternoon that emergency crews were called to the scene at Verobeach Boulevard and St. Lucie Drive, in the area of Weston Road and Sheppard Avenue, at 9:53 p.m.

Officers said a man was riding a motorcycle east on Verobeach Boulevard when he hit a curb and a parked vehicle.

He suffered “significant injuries” and was taken to hospital, police said.

Toronto paramedics told Global News the victim was taken to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.

In Sunday’s update, police said he remains in serious condition.

What led to the crash is unclear.
