A police operation unfolded Wednesday afternoon at Mont Cascades, a water park in western Quebec, after someone allegedly pointed what appeared to be a gun at an employeeat the top of a slide.
No shots were fired and no one is injured, said Det.-Sgt. Dominic Robitaille of the MRC des Collines police service.
About a dozen officers weresent to the scene and the aquatic park in Cantley, Que., not far from Ottawa, was evacuated shortly after 4 p.m.while police searched the grounds.
“One of the employees, she was targeted with a rifle, a long rifle — or an imitation,” Robitaille said. “And the two guys left after pointing it at the young lady.”
Police are looking for a white, English-speaking man with dark hair and beard who appeared to be in his 30s and was wearing camouflage-style shorts, a blue shirt and a green mask, he said.
Searches in the mountainous area had yielded no finds as of sundown.
Officers continued to look for the suspects as dusk set in, with provincial police in the area notified as well.
Residents were advised to remain in their homes.
