Police say a stabbing in southwest Vancouver Saturday morning has left one man dead.
Police were called to the area of West 57th Avenue and Southwest Marine Drive around 6:30 a.m. “for reports of three men in the street, one of them carrying a knife,” spokesperson Const. Tania Visintin said.
A man in his early 20s was found in the area with stab wounds, she said. He was taken to hospital where he later died.
The incident drew a large police presence, including the VPD’s Emergency Response Team, and witnesses posted to social media reporting they heard several loud bangs.
Video from the scene showed officers ordering a man from a home late Saturday morning and placing him in handcuffs.
However, Visintin said police had made no arrests and that the investigation was ongoing.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Vancouver police or Crime Stoppers if they wish to remain anonymous.
