Robbers target narcotics in gunpoint raid on pharmacy

WINNIPEG – Armed robbers in masks ordered employees of a Shoppers Drug Mart down on the floor and then demanded they open the store’s safe on Sunday evening.

The two men, one armed with a black handgun, went into the store at 3665 Portage Ave. at about 5:20 p.m., police said.

The seven female employees obeyed the men’s orders and no one was injured.

The men stole narcotics from the store pharmacy, police said.

The robbers are described as a six-foot man weighing 220 to 230 pounds, wearing a grey hoodie, a black balaclava and dark track pants, and a six-foot-two man weighing about 170 pounds, fair with blonde or light-red hair, wearing dark shorts, black shoes and a bandana up to his nose.
