Almost 3,000 firefighters face several challenges as they battle a huge out-of-control wildfire in east-central California.
The blaze near Yosemite National Park has charred almost 600 square kilometres in a week and-a-half.

Firefighters are being hampered by dry conditions, strong winds, and inaccessible terrain.
The blaze is only seven per cent contained.
