Joseph Saks, 38, was seen in the community of Queensland at 5 p.m. on June 13 and then in Diamond Cove later that evening.

“He was walking along the river over in Diamond Cove. He was spotted there talking on his phone. Since that time, his phone has gone dead. Nobody has heard a peep from him since the 13th,” his father Jim Saks told Global News on June 22.

Police said his family reported him missing on June 15 after becoming concerned for his welfare.

‘He was always laughing’

Jim described Joseph as a “happy-go-lucky young fella” who is into fitness.

“You always knew where Joey was because he was always laughing… Unfortunately, he has struggled with a bit of depression over the years, and his disappearance is not characteristic,” he said.

Jim said he has reached out to everyone he knows.

“Everybody’s really looking forward to hearing that laugh and seeing Joey again. I’d give anything to hear it,” he said.

“If anybody has even the slightest idea where he is or what might have happened to him, please reach out. It’s horrible to think of some of the possible outcomes but it’s even more horrible not knowing.”
