The riding of Brandon-Souris is located in southwest Manitoba. It borders on the United States and Saskatchewan and includes the city of Brandon.
Brandon-Souris has been a Conservative stronghold with the exception of 1993, when voters elected Liberal candidate Glen McKinnon, who served until 1997.
Conservative MP Merv Tweed held the seat consecutively from 2004 until 2013 when he resigned to be the president of Omnitrax Canada Inc.
Conservative Larry Maguire became the riding’s MP in 2013 following a by-election. He kept the seat in 2015, when he won with 50 per cent of the vote. He was once again re-elected in 2019 in a landslide victory with 63.5 per cent of the vote.
