There’s a clearer picture of the working conditions inside David “Tung Sheng” Wu’s illegal dental clinic that was shutdown in Burnaby.
The fraudulent dentist is still on the run but a video of the raid on his home-based clinic shows the size of his operation. According to authorities, there’s little evidence of Wu properly sterilizing his equipment.

RCMP, the College of Dental Surgeons and its private investigators, Focus Solutions, raided the home office of Wu at the end of May. In his office, which was a converted bedroom, investigators found a dentist chair, equipment and an old autoclave sterilizer.
The college says they have no records of required testing to ensure instruments and materials are properly sterilized which makes them skeptical of the level of hygiene. They have seized Wu’s drills, equipment and supplies as evidence.
The Fraser Health Authority says all 1,500 of Wu’s patients need to be tested for Hepatitis B and C as well as HIV. Wu was banned from practicing dentistry in 2003.
Wu will be facing a contempt citation in BC Supreme Court on Monday, which could be a fine or jail time.
