Hockey Canada has unveiled its new Olympic hockey jerseys for the 2010 Winter Games.
The red and white jerseys carry a modified Maple Leaf logo inset with aboriginal designs. The design replaces an old design that the International Olympic Committee objected to because it carried the Hockey Canada logo.
The IOC has banned national sports federations from carrying their logos on athlete uniforms.
The new jerseys, red for home and white for away, carry small IOC-acceptable logos of Hockey Canada, the Vancouver Organizing Committee and Nike, the manufacturer.
Vanoc also announced it signed Nike as the official "high performance sporting goods manufacturer" for the 2010 Games. The deal, which will see Nike make and sell the jerseys for up to $135 each, is expected to be the last sponsor signing for the Games. The jerseys will also be sold at HBC, another Vanoc sponsor.
The aboriginal design in the centre of the Maple Leaf is came from Musqueam artist Debra Sparrow.
