Man charged with counselling to commit murder

HAMILTON – Hamilton police say a 29-year-old man has been charged with counselling to commit murder after he was connected to a number of incidents.

Police say last Tuesday a complainant who is alleged to have stolen from the accused was held inside a home and repeatedly assaulted by the accused until he arranged reimbursement.

Police say two days later four armed men wearing masks allegedly burst into the accused’s home and assaulted and robbed him.

Police say the man didn’t report the invasion but allegedly sought retribution against who he thought was responsible.

The accused also allegedly counselled an individual to commit murder in relation to the home invasion.

On Monday police stopped an impaired driver and the accused was in the back of the car.

Police say he falsely identified himself and officers took him into custody.

Sarann Nop faces several charges including counselling to commit murder and four counts of possession of a firearm while prohibited.
