The 34-year-old offensive lineman was due to become a pending free agent this coming Tuesday.

Rogers hasn’t suited up for the green and gold yet after tearing his bicep during training camp ahead of the 2019 CFL season. The injury ended his year.

Rogers has made 87 starts primarily at left tackle for the Toronto Argonauts and the Ottawa Redblacks.

In 2015, he was named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Lineman. Rogers is a three-time Eastern Division All-Star and a two-time CFL All-Star.

Later on Thursday, the Edmonton Football Team signed starting Canadian safety Jordan Hoover and Canadian fullback Alex Dupuis.

Hoover will be entering his fourth season in green and gold. In 2019 he recorded 53 defensive tackles, two interceptions, one quarterback sack and one special teams tackle.

Dupuis played two previous seasons with the Edmonton Football Team in 2017 and 2018 primarily on special teams and as a blocking fullback. Dupuis has four career catches for 42 yards and four special teams tackles in 24 games played with Edmonton.
