Sunday marked the second anniversary of the fatal shooting of Kurt McKechnie at a home in Cambridge in 2019.
Waterloo Regional Police say investigators are still working to solve the incident, which occurred at a home on Southwood Drive in Cambridge in the early morning hours of Jan. 31, 2019.
“This is the second anniversary of his passing and investigators have been working diligently,” Const. Ashey Dietrich told Global News on Monday.
“This has been an open case and we continue to appeal to any witnesses or anyone with information to assist us with this investigation.”
Police arrived at the home at around 6:25 a.m., where officers found McKechnie suffering from serious injuries as a result of gunshot wounds.
He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police believe McKechnie knew the suspects in the case.
They are still looking to speak with four people who were seen leaving the area in an SUV area shortly after the killing.
