About 30 minutes after the shooting, Langley fire crews responded to reports of a burning vehicle in the 21400 block of 76th Avenue.

Jang said investigators are working to determine if there is a link between Monday’s fatal shooting and the burned vehicle.

Surrey RCMP Sgt. Elenore Sturko said the “the shooting placed the public at risk” and enforcement is being stepped up.

“It’s likely that the public has many questions about how someone so young could be involved in a lifestyle that would put them at risk for such a violent and tragic death,” she said.

“Regardless of their background or circumstances, the senseless loss of life is a tragedy.”

Monday’s shooting comes after 19-year-old Harman Singh Dhesi was shot and killed on Sunday night.

Dhesi was known to police and the shooting appears to have been targeted.

Investigators are not ruling out a connection between the two shootings.
