A woman is dead after a crash in the Massey Tunnel shut down Highway 99 in both directions early Wednesday.
RCMP said a vehicle travelling southbound on Highway 99 crossed the centre line inside the tunnel, colliding with an oncoming vehicle.
A 61-year-old Richmond woman who was driving the northbound vehicle died in the crash. The passenger in her vehicle and the driver of the vehicle that crossed the centre line are in hospital with serious injuries, RCMP said.

The crash happened as overnight maintenance crews were blocking off the northbound lanes, which pushed traffic into a single lane in each direction.
The tunnel was closed for seven hours. DriveBC said Wednesday morning that commuters should expect heavy delays due to congestion.
