Edmonton police investigating shooting

Durham Regional Police say they were called to the scene at Church Street North and Delaney Drive at approximately 1 p.m. File/Global News

EDMONTON – The Edmonton Police Service is investigating a shooting that happened around 8 p.m. Wednesday in the northeast end of the city.

Police say there were two vehicles involved, and both were travelling in the same direction when the shots were fired.

Officers were called by staff at the Northeast Health Centre near 50 Street and Fort Road on Wednesday evening.

They were told that a 22-year-old man arrived at the health centre suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

Police received minimal information, but say the man was allegedly driving east on Hermitage Road when he was fired at by another man in a dark coloured SUV.

The EPS continues to investigate, and says the incident does not appear to be random.
