Global News has learned the boy was playing in the upper level of the barn around the time the fire started.

The young boy, who lives on the property, was reported missing Friday night and neighbours and police quickly started a search of the property for the boy. They were unable to search the barn Friday however due to the fire.

Monday morning, crews searched the barn for remains but said due to the intensity of the flames, the body was likely incinerated.
