An Alberta Emergency Alert had earlier advised seeking shelter if you were in the M.D. of Taber.

Warner County and parts of Lethbridge County were originally included in the warning, but Environment Canada dropped it later in the evening.

Alberta Emergency Alert said at 7:37 p.m., a tornado was spotted near New Dayton moving 60 kilometres per hour to the northeast.

Much of the province was placed under a severe thunderstorm watch earlier in the day in anticipation of storms moving into the southwest corner of Alberta and tracking northeast to north of the Edmonton region.
