CALGARY – TD Insurance has had a change of heart about covering certain flood damage claims for homes in southern Alberta.
The company says it recognizes that this is a very difficult time for everyone affected by recent flooding in the province, and now says it will pay for sewer back up losses within the limits of individual policies.

The move follows similar pledges made last week but other companies including RBC and AMA Insurance.
The companies have been under pressure from flood victims, who have complained that their insurers were refusing to pay claims for damage from sewer backups.
TD Insurance says it will be reaching out to customers in the coming days.
