Regina police say a body found inside a burning vehicle was not the result of criminal activity.
Police on patrol came across the burning car Wednesday at around 5:30 a.m. in the area of 13th Avenue and Embury Street.
Officials say the parked vehicle was engulfed in flames. The fire department and EMS were called to the scene.
Police say a male was inside the vehicle, and he was pronounced dead on the scene by EMS. His family has been notified, but police have not released his name.
“At this time, investigators have determined that there is nothing to suggest the death of the male is criminal in nature,” said the Regina Police Service on Thursday. “The fire also does not appear suspicious at this time.”
The investigation remains ongoing.
