Saskatoon firefighters and farmers joined together to beat back a grass fire outside of Saskatoon.
Firefighters were called to Highway 14 West and Range Road 3065, about five kilometres west of the city, just before 3 p.m.
Thick smoke and 35 km/h winds helped the fire spread but, with the help of local farmers dumping dirt on the flames, firefighters extinguished the blaze by 5 p.m.
Officials say the fire department dispatched a fire engine and two water tankers, among other trucks, and were able to prevent the fire from damaging several structures in the area.
Rail tracks were damaged, according to a statement, but the rail provider was alerted.
The fire department said no nearby homes were at risk and they did not close the highway.
