SASKATOON – Transit riders on some routes in Saskatoon will see changes starting Sunday. Along with those changes, the Confederation Station will temporarily move starting Canada Day and the new direct downtown routes start up on Tuesday.
Transit officials say the route changes are part of their commitment to providing the best possible service to riders.
Route 11 will be revised northbound between 33rd and 39th Streets, and will no longer travel north on Ontario, instead heading north on Idylwyld. Southbound between 33rd and 36th Streets will head down Avenue D North instead of Ontario.

Route 40 from downtown to the airport will no longer be in service. It will be replaced by Route 12.
On Route 14, travel on 1st Avenue north of 33rd Street will be removed with north and south travel via Quebec Avenue.
Route 28 will be readjusted to provide localized service in Evergreen.
Service will remain the same on Dart Routes 70 and 80 however those will now terminate at the downtown terminal.
Saskatoon Transit is advising riders to check schedules as stop times may have changed.
Riders who use Confederation Station will find the terminal temporarily relocated on-street on both Laurier and Confederation Drives.
Officials say the move will prevent further damage to the area along with allowing for a proper assessment of the terminal’s condition and to consider future options.
They also say the move will provide benefits to riders, with reduced travel times and more direct access to commercial areas.
The other big change comes Tuesday, when the new Direct Route 1 starts in the Lakeview and Lakeridge neighbourhoods and travels non-stop travel to downtown via the fastest route possible.
