With the Canada Day long weekend on the way, police are again reminding drivers to not drink and drive.
Police, ICBC and the province launched their summer counterattack campaign this morning.
Three people are killed and over 150 are injured in B.C. on Canada Day alone, and two these fatalities are people killed in crashes involving impaired driving.
Attorney General Suzanne Anton announced they are putting up over a million dollars for the counterattack summer campaign this year.

Over the next few months, police officers all over the province will be setting up road blocks to catch people who exceed the legal limit.
Anton says since B.C.’s new tough drinking and driving laws took effect in 2010, more than 140 lives have been saved.
“That is more than 140 brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, sons and daughters who have made it home to their families.”
Drivers are being asked to make an alternative plan before they head out and drink.
“Whether you are golfing, camping, boating or getting together with friends this summer, have a good time and make sure you plan a safe ride home before you head out,” says ICBC Interim President Mike Blucher. “Share the responsibility of being a designated driver. Take your turn to help your friends and family to get home safely.”
