London fire crews were busy battling a structure fire at a home on Carol Street on Tuesday evening.
It was around 6:30 p.m. when firefighters were called to a house on the side street near Springbank Drive and Wonderland Road.
Platoon Chief Shawn Fitzgerald says fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke spewing from the home.
“It was difficult to really confirm which house was on fire because of the amount of smoke blanketing the area.”
Although there isn’t an exact dollar estimate of damage from the fire, Fitzgerald tells Global News the number is well over $100,000.
Firefighters say residents of the home had already self-evacuated when they arrived.
Investigation continues today by London police and Fire Prevention Investigators to find a cause, origin, and circumstance.
