Waterloo Regional Police say a Kitchener woman and boy from Guelph were hit by a GO train in Kitchener on Wednesday.
They say the incident occurred around 2:50 p.m. on the tracks near Lancaster Street West and Victoria Street North.

Police say that the 30-year-old woman and child were walking south on Lancaster Street West when the incident occurred.
They were both airlifted to hospitals in Hamilton with life-threatening injuries.
Orng Air told Global News that the woman was flown to Hamilton General Hospital while the child was taken to McMaster Children’s Hospital.
Police did not disclose the exact details of the pair’s relationship. They did say they knew each other but are not related.
Police initially reported that the pair were struck by a CN Rail train.
The incident forced GO Transit to cancel some trains and delay others.

Lancaster Street West was closed for several hours while police investigated the incident.
