EDMONTON-RCMP say one of two men they were searching for in connection with a shooting in Cold Lake has turned himself in. Officers are still actively searching for a second suspect, who has links to our city.
In the early morning hours on Friday, RCMP responded to a shooting outside a condo complex in Cold Lake. Police say a 31-year-old man was struck a number of times. He was able to fend off his attackers and drive himself to the Cold Lake Health Centre, officers say. He was then flown by air ambulance to Edmonton where he remains in hospital in serious, but stable condition.

RCMP were looking for 31-year-old Miguel Alvarado and 23-year-old Brent Mercredi.
Mercredi has since turned himself in to Saskatoon RCMP and is being held in custody pending transport back to Cold Lake.
Officers are still searching for Alvarado, who is known to live in Edmonton.

Investigators say this was not a random act, as the victim and suspects know each other.
Alvarado is described as:
· Hispanic
· Bald
· 6’2″ tall
· 240 pounds
RCMP say Alvarado is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
