Man killed in southeast Calgary motorcycle crash

A man in his 30s was killed in a motorcycle crash in the intersection of Midpark Boulevard and Midlake Boulevard Southeast on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019 . Global News

Calgary police say neither drugs nor alcohol are considered factors in a deadly motorcycle collision in the community of Midnapore on Thursday.

The crash happened in the intersection of Midlake Boulevard and Midridge Drive Southeast just before 6:30 p.m.

In a news release, the Calgary Police Service said the motorcycle, which was heading west, hit the passenger side of a Dodge Caravan that was turning left onto northbound Midridge Drive Southeast.

The motorcyclist, a 25-year-old man, suffered “significant injuries” and was pronounced dead at the scene, CPS said.

The driver of the caravan wasn’t injured.

The crash caused the temporary closure of the intersection while officers investigated.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed this collision to call the non-emergency number at 403-266-1234 or the traffic unit at 403-567-4000 or to submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
