CALGARY – Police have charged a 30-year-old man in connection to a murder almost one year ago.
Graham Mark Sear was found dead on June 8th, 2012 after reports that two men were assaulting him inside a silver Toyota 4Runner in a parking lot in the 1900 block of Southland Drive S.W.
Officers found his body inside the vehicle, in an alley behind the Braeside Shopping Centre.
Police said they believed the 28-year-old’s death was a drug deal gone wrong, and that he may have known at least one of the people involved.
On Wednesday, police arrested Christopher Brian Richards and charged him with one count of first-degree murder.
Homicide investigators believe at least one other person may have been involved in Sear’s death, and are searching for another man described as 5’8” to 6’ tall with a slim to medium build and light-coloured hair. He was wearing black hoodie and jeans at the time.
Investigators also believe there were people in the parking lot who have witnessed the death, but have not yet come forward. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
Richard is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, May 28th.
