An RCMP officer was hospitalized during an extensive search for a wanted man in Saskatchewan.
Efforts to locate Jade Ermine, 30, in the area west and north of Prince Albert began at roughly 2 p.m. on Aug. 20.
According to the Prince Albert Police Service, he became the subject of the search following an “incident” on Tuesday afternoon.
He was also wanted on several outstanding warrants for charges including flight from police, possession of stolen property and six counts of breaching court orders.

During the search efforts, a Prince Albert RCMP officer was injured and taken to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Police did not release details of how the officer was injured.
RCMP were asking the public not to approach Ermine.

Members of Prince Albert police arrested the man in the city at around 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 21. He was taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit in the unit block of 13th Street West.
Additional charges against Ermine are pending, according to Prince Albert police. He is scheduled to appear in provincial court on Aug. 22.
The investigation is ongoing.
