According to investigators, the grey Acura was travelling eastbound on 17 Avenue S.W. when the driver attempted to make a sharp left onto 12 Street, which was fenced off due to construction.

The vehicle then went careening into the KFC, hitting a 33-year-old man, a 30-year-old woman, and an eight-month-old infant, all of whom were sitting at a table near the window.

“The family was transported to hospital in serious, life-threatening condition and were later deemed stable,” a Tuesday news release from Calgary police stated.

Police explained the man was stable, the woman was stable but suffered “life-altering injuries.”
