Body of missing Cambridge man recovered during underwater search

Waterloo Regional Police say the body of a missing 42-year-old man was recovered on Tuesday in a small body of water in Cambridge.

The man was reported missing on Monday and police focused their investigation on Goddard Crescent after finding his car in a parking lot.

Police say evidence suggested the man may have wandered into the nearby wooded area and entered the water.

The man’s body was found shortly before 10 a.m. by the OPP’s underwater search and recovery unit who were called in to assist.

Police say an autopsy is scheduled to take place at a later date, but they do not believe foul play was involved.

The man’s death is believed to accidental or as a result of misadventure.
