TORONTO – A female pedestrian was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car in mid-town Toronto early Wednesday morning.
The incident happened around 3 a.m. at the intersection of Yonge Street and Glengrove Avenue when the 25-year-old woman exited a TTC bus, attempted to cross the street and was struck.
The vehicle, a 2013 Audi A7 driven by a 47-year-old man, remained at the scene.
Yonge Street was been shut down in both directions near the collision, but was reopened several hours later.
There’s no word yet on the cause of the crash.
Traffic Services continues to investigate and are asking for witnesses to come forward.
