Homicide detectives investigate death of person found in central Edmonton

UPDATE: On Friday, June 28, the EPS said an autopsy was conducted on Thursday but the results were inconclusive and further medical testing is needed to determine a cause and manner of death.

The Edmonton Police Service said Wednesday night that homicide detectives are investigating the death of a person found near 100 Street and 106 Avenue.

Police said officers found a 43-year-old man dead outside in the area at around 9 p.m.

The death is being treated as “suspicious,” police said in a news release.

An autopsy was scheduled for Thursday morning.

“As the investigation is in its early stages, no further information is available at this time.”
