Two people were found dead near Stoney Trail in northwest Calgary on Friday morning and the homicide unit has been called to help the investigation.
According to the Calgary Police Service, officers were called to Stoney Trail at Nose Hill Drive N.W. at about 9 a.m. for reports of a sudden death. Officers on scene found two people dead — a man and a woman.
The homicide unit had arrived on scene as of 10:45 a.m. and the medical examiner was expected as well.
As a result of the investigation, southbound Stoney Trail at Nose Hill Drive was closed to traffic.
Calgary police said late Friday afternoon the deaths are believed to be connected, “however the cause and nature of the deaths is being investigated.”
Autopsies are expected to be done on Monday.
