Poll: Was the hit on Lars Eller by Eric Gryba a dirty one?

Montreal Canadiens’ centre Lars Eller was left unconscious and bloodied on the ice after taking a controversial hit from Ottawa Senator’s defenceman Eric Gryba in the second period of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference quarter-final on Thursday night.

Gryba was awarded a five-minute major for interference and a game misconduct on the play and the NHL has scheduled a disciplinary hearing on Friday.

According to the NHL website, an additional disciplinary measure of an illegal check to the head may also be considered, noting that “the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to these infractions accordingly upon further review.”
