A reservist with the Canadian Armed Forces is facing multiple charges under the National Defence Act in connection to reports of sexual misconduct.
In a press release, the Department of National Defence (DND) says that the incident is alleged to have taken place during a function at the Fort Pepperrell Mess at CFS St. John’s, N.L. in September 2018.

Charges were officially laid on March 16 after an investigation by the Canadian Armed Forces investigative branch.
Major Kirk Kendall, a reservist with the 37 Combat Engineer Regiment in St. John’s., is now facing:
- One count of disgraceful conduct
- Three counts of conduct to the prejudice of good order and discipline
- One count of drunkenness

DND says that the matter will now proceed through the military justice system for a possible summary trial or court martial at a later date.
