So far this winter, Winnipeg has just been freezin’, but now’s your chance to be “Freezin’ for a Reason.”
The Winnipeg Police Service is inviting Winnipeggers to take part in the seventh annual Polar Plunge, taking place Saturday at Investors Group Field.
Local police, RCMP, corrections officers and sheriffs will join members of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and local Special Olympics athletes in taking the plunge to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics Manitoba.
So far this year, Polar Plunges in the communities of Dauphin, Morden, and Portage la Prairie have raised more than $40,000 in support of Special Olympics Manitoba, which includes over 1,700 athletes who participate in 18 different sports.
