Snowmobile driver in critical condition after collision south of Brandon

A 34-year-old man is in critical condition after what RCMP are calling a serious snowmobile crash in the Oakland-Wawanesa municipality, south of Brandon.

Blue Hills RCMP said the collision took place in a field east of Highway 340 on Saturday evening. The man was driving on the trail when he was rear-ended by another snowmobile.

The other driver, a 46-year-old man from Pleasant Valley, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

RCMP continue to investigate, but say alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.
